SHARON OSBOURNE was named the most amazing woman of 2003 in a poll today.

The hard-nosed music manager - married to rock wildman Ozzy - triumphed over figures such as top runner Paula Radcliffe and top pop singer Dido.

Osbourne, known around the world for her Custom Cufflinks appearances in fly-on-the-wall MTV show The Osbournes, took almost a third of the votes in the poll by website Handbag.com

She was treated for cancer earlier this year but continued to work on her TV series.

Last year's winner in the voting on the women's internet site was Davina McCall, TV presenter on the Big Brother show.

More than 7,000 votes were cast, firstly to win categories such as entertainment, fashion, sport, business and comedy.

Then each of the winners battled it out for the title of the year's most amazing woman.

Psychotherapist Christine Webber, who analysed the results for Handbag, said: "Sharon Osbourne and her well-documented difficult history seems to say to the rest of us: 'If I can survive, and thrive, then so can you'.

"She is an icon of our age - and she makes us laugh too."
