In a recent press occasion staged by global beauty brand Dove, one of the VIPs uttered that we currently live in the century wherein women, the so-called weaker gender, rule in some ways. Men might argue with that, but it's clear that the world has opened itself to the ways of women. Here are some female personalities who showcase their visual charm, talents, and winning ways amidst the odds. Mau on the rebound "Philippine Idol" winner Mau Marcelo has her reasons to feel bad and quite insecure that she hasn't gone that far since winning the title. According to her, she feels sad that GMA-7's "Pinoy Idol" (which declared its first winner this year) didn't acknowledge her victory considering it was supposed to be a follow-up of the contest originally staged by then ABC-5 as the official local version of the "Idol" franchise. Now that Mau recently signed up with Viva Artists Agency, this owner of a provincial vocal school whose voice has been described by American Idol winner Taylor Hicks as 'big makeup brushes and booming' is looking forward to exciting projects. Thanks to her producer Alan Peter Ayque who had to resign from his job to focus on producing her because 'she has what it takes to make it.' "I put up Radar Music Publishing and Entertainment (a new managing and song publishing company) because of Carmella. I found her talent too good not to be taken care of," said Ayque, who wrote some of the numbers included in Carmella's self-titled album distributed by Ivory Music. The album is a mix of danceable and slow-tempo pop songs, with the carrier single "Back In My Arms Again." Vocally coached by the highly reputed Raffy Amaranto, Carmella was a finalist in ABS-CBN's Little Big Star in 2005 and became QTV 11's Pop Star Kid audition winner in May 2006. embroidered patches Good mileage and women empowerment Thomas sabo charms Stories about strong and achieving women were the toast at Dove's presscon at Shangri-La Makati, featuring the Hollywood flick "The Women." ELVIS & KRESSE WHAT IS IT? Elvis & Kresse makes bags, washbags and belts out of reclaimed fire hose. You can buy at elvisandkresse.com or from a small number of stockists in Britain and Europe (see website for details). 'FIRE HOSE' AS IN 'FIRE BRIGADE'? Precisely. Kresse Wesling, a self-confessed green obsessive, met members of the London Fire Brigade on an environmental management course. They mentioned that hose cannot be recycled because of its replica breitling watches nylon core and a (low-energy) light bulb lit up in Kresse's head: use it as a leather substitute. Date Night (15) HHH Dir: Shawn Levy With: Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Mark Wahlberg POLE dancing? It didn't happen one night to Claudette Colbert. Katharine Hepburn only had to contend with a leopard and Cary Grant's lethal charm, while Rosalind Russell in His Girl Friday merely had a deadline to worry about. But such are the demands on contemporary comedy heroines that Tina Fey has to dress like a saloon girl and make like a fireman in Date Night. The sacrifice is not in vain, as it leads to the most amusing scene in what should have been a far funnier film given the combined comedy heft of Fey and her co-star Steve Carell. While the stars of 30 Rock and The 40-Year-Old-Virgin glisten as brightly as one might expect, the rest of the movie is decidedly lacklustre. Still, if you are having your own date night - an American custom which, like trick or treating and inadvisable foreign wars, seems to be gaining in popularity over here - Shawn Levy's picture is a safe enough bet. Claire and Phil Foster (Fey and Carell) are from New Jersey. He's a tax lawyer, she's an estate agent, and they have two young children. Mr and sexy lingerie china Mrs Foster are tired, bone tired, but for the sake of their marriage they still make the effort to go out once a week on a dinner date. After learning that some friends (Kristen Wiig and a cruelly underused Mark Ruffalo) are to separate, the Fosters decide to up their game further and go all the way into Manhattan for their date night. There, unable to secure a table at a chichi restaurant, the innocents abroad steal another couple's reservation. And so the game of mistaken identity begins. There are several twists in the corkscrew to come as the Fosters discover they have become caught up in some big city shenanigans involving, among others, a mob boss played by Ray "Still Not Afraid to Be Typecast" Liotta. embroidered patches Like Scorsese's After Hours, Date Night plays on the fear of being trapped in the big city, helpless, alone, and dancing to someone else's diabolical tune. For such films to work, the right kind of city has to be chosen. Being adrift in Manhattan as midnight approaches offers all kinds of narrative possibilities and scenic locations in which to look scared and confused. Being in the same situation in Glasgow has the makings of an episode of Taggart. The Fosters are not entirely alone in the urban jungle, however. From way back in her estate agent past, Claire recalls a client who knew a lot about security and computers (unlike Claire, who calls a flash drive a "computer sticky thing"). Meet Holbrooke, aka Mark Wahlberg, with his shirt off and his pecs out. In Holbrooke's genial, half-naked company, Claire undergoes a transformation from sensible, mature wife to world-class flirt. The argument with Phil that results is one of several points in the movie when you wonder what Levy (Night at the Museum, The Pink Panther) and his writer Josh Klausner (The 4th Floor, Shrek the Third) were thinking. In some movies it's the done thing to have two adults whine at each other about domestic stuff. An intense family drama, say. But in what is meant to be a light as lemon souffle screwball comedy? Not content with having Phil and Claire grouch at each other, another couple (played by James Franco and Mila Kunis) get in on the arguing act a little later. The tone of their tussle is much Other articles: TIGERS">http://www.lt13.com/blog/more.asp?name=watches2009&id=574>TIGERShttp://www.morefriend.net/blog/view/id_177/title_Xinhua-China-News-Digest-at-16/

THE last Sorento was popular because it looked good inside and out, was well priced and made a reasonably quiet touring wagon. makeup brushes With those attributes the punters didn't seem to mind that the solid rear axle made the ride a bit of a mixed bag and that the handling was better suited to ambling than dashing. Those same punters should be massively impressed by this new one. At a stroke the old heavy-duty bits have been banished: no hint of either a separate chassis frame or a low ratio transfer box or a solid rear axle. The result is altogether more road biased - which is where most of them get used anyway - with less weight, more space and better road manners. This citification process is nowhere better illustrated than at the bottom end of the range with the $46,990 two-wheel-drive version, aptly badged "Urban". A four-wheel-drive wagon with only two wheels driven sounds like a bit of a fake but there's no shortage of precedent in recent years; think Territory, Highlander and a few others besides. Why would you buy it? Well it still has the third row of seats, the diesel engine and plenty of safety gear. Arguably, it's just a fashion play for people who want the extra seating but aren't interested in driving something that looks in any way like a people carrier; who are we to argue with the Fashion gods? Anyway, that's not the one we're testing. This one comes from the other end of the range, $63,990, leather- lined, reversing camera, lots of sunroof and all the other clobber you might expect at the top. replica balenciaga handbags The absence of a low-ratio transfer box is partially compensated for by the addition of the usual grab-bag of electronic traction aids; traction control, some sort of centre diff lock and hill descent control. The six-speed auto also allows a nice low first gear that, with the help of the torque converter, gives you at least something to work with in slow going. While Kia has been advertising the Sorento R quite loudly lately, with a least one verse of the song and dance being about the more powerful diesel engine, one thing they've been a bit quiet about is the cubic capacity of that engine. It's a mere 2.2 litres, you see, and if that's the first thing people hear they're apt to consider it a bit namby- pamby. Results are what count, though, and on that score the Sorento has nothing to be ashamed of with power figures that shame several much larger engines in the Japanese competition. Of course we knew that already having sampled this same engine in Hyundai's Santa Fe very recently. Decent refinement, good performance and excellent fuel economy are pretty much the story; the best diesel engine in its class, in fact. It's not as if the rest of the package is a dud, either. It's handsome enough to look at and the inside looks tidy enough, too, as well as being solidly assembled. Space inside is okay; rear-seat legroom is perhaps slightly compromised by making room for the two occasional seats in the boot but the compromise is, by and large, successful. The two rear-most seats are sized more for children than adults but that's no surprise in a wagon that's medium-large rather than outright big. Dynamically, this generation of Sorento reflects a change in the company's approach. Older Kias tended to be softish in the suspension, often to Prada Replica Handbags the benefit of comfort but without leaving much to i Other articles: http://www.itworld365.com/Hotelier-stands-down-as-group.htmlhttp://receptiki.com/blog/entry.php?w=mywatches&e_id=182

"I would only go out with you kapag sikat ka na,” teased Isay Alvarez to then budding actor Robert Seña when he first asked her out. At that time, Isay and Robert were poles apart in the theater industry as she was already bagging lead roles in Broadway while he was still replica bag wholesale singing for the theater chorus. But luck was smiling down on Robert’s career (not to mention his love life!) when he began getting meatier roles and winning the affection of the elusive theater actress. They started out as friends, at least on Isay’s part they did. But Robert confessed he was instantly attracted by her beauty and resilient personality. “I never ambitioned to become friends with the Isay Alvarez since I was still new in theater at that time, but when we were doing the ‘Magsimula Ka’ musical in the ‘80s we became close friends, walang tinatago, walang malisya…para sa kanya wala pero sa akin meron,” Seña said laughingly. And Robert wasn’t alone. A lot of their other friends and colleagues were attracted to the heady and lovely actress cum singer so she paid no mind when people started teasing her and Robert. “Robert and I belong to a big barkada of actors and actresses, and since I was their senior professionally and financially (she was already a TV actress at that time and already playing a major part in Batibot) I was the one paying for our gimmicks, our taxi fares even. Ganoon kami ka-close, so wala lang sa akin iyong mga admirers at that time,” Alvarez explained. But all of that changed when Robert and Isay went to London in 1989 for the original production of Miss Saigon. There, they bonded like siblings and took care of each other. As a result, Robert’s feelings for Isay became intense so he decided to court her, officially. “One night I invited her to dinner and she refused. She made a joke that she will only go out with me ‘pag sikat na ko, when I make a name for myself and I took that as a challenge,” Seña said. When he went back to the Philippines, Robert got his first break by staging an opera concert, with Lea Salonga as guest. This gave him raving reviews from critics, as it was a first in the music industry. Armed with news clippings and reviews on his successful concert, Robert went back to London to see if Isay would keep her word. “Pumayag na akong makipag-dinner,” she gushed. “He really pursued me after that. Tapos noong bigyan siya ng lead role sa Miss Saigon, noong time na ‘yun hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala na may nakikita ‘yung directors and producers sa kanya na hindi ko nakikita eh ang tagal-tagal ko na siyang kaibigan. Siguro tinanggal nalang ng Diyos ‘yung mga barriers, and I started to see who he really was.”It wasn’t long until Isay realized she and Robert were truly meant to be. But in the earlier part of their relationship, they had to keep it secret. “Ayaw pa naming sabihin kasi parang ang weird. I’m not used to it na magkabarkada kami tapos kami na,” she said. “But when we announced it, everyone was so happy for us. Parang iniisip siguro nila na ‘Well done, Robert! Good job!’ Eh ang dami rin kasi niyang followers and suitors na umaaligid-aligid,” he added. In a matter of months, Robert popped the question and they got married in London in 1991. They even got married three times – twice in London, and once here in the Philippines. The couple staged a Catholic wedding in the country in order to appease their parents. As to what made them decide to get married, Isay joked, “Nakahanap na kasi siya ng nanay saka yaya!” But Robert countered, “She actually completes me and fills ‘yung mga bagay na kind of lacking sa akin.”His wife continued, “Kung ako mas serious, siya naman &l Other articles: http://www.8mchina.com/The-bottom-line.htmlhttp://www.cnshanzhai.com/Blog/View/?1374

'Fore they gets the gear off the Clip on charms bus.' But Elgar could not decide. Through the doorway, Abe saw the last bag come out of the boot of the coach. 'Here,' said Abe. 'Mog, Dai, Mush, and you, Bashie, get hold of your gear and nip down the road with Elgar. What's it called, this place?' 'Harbour Rest,' said the manager. 'That'll be changed,' Abe said knowledgeably. 'Go on, Elgar, I'll sign us in by here.' So Elgar found himself leading the party through the streets of the little Cornish town, Bashie bringing up the rear, the toothbrush which he described as his luggage sticking out offensively from his top pocket. The Harbour Rest was a tall Victorian boarding house set in a terrace and the landlady believed in making space go round since normal bedrooms were partitioned into two, with single beds jammed up against each partition. If Abe had intended that Elgar should inspect each room, he had not reckoned with Elgar's apprehension for no sooner had the party entered the building than the players began to deposit their luggage, and it was all Elgar could do to ensure that he had a room of his own on the ground floor. The players were anxious to rejoin the main party, so there was no inspection and Elgar began to unpack his suitcase with a continued sense of his own inadequacy. Once again, the presence of Bashie Williams had disturbed his sense of equilibrium. He simply must pull himself together. replica hublot watches 'Where the hell you bin?' said Abe when he returned eventually to the others. 'Perhaps he's got a bit of stuff there already?' What might the fellow say next? Bashie, as it happened, was distracted by the arrival of a pint, and Abe drew Elgar to one side. 'I didn't mean you to stay down there yourself.' 'I could do with an early night.' 'Yes, you're looking a bit peaky.' That night, Elgar dosed himself with tablets and awoke in a drugged stupor which had the effect of lessening his unease. Over nearly 60 years she charts an existence marked by poverty, bereavement, injury and, finally, a cruel and lingering death from motor neurone disease. The decision to make these diaries public cannot have been easy. In his introduction, Joss explains that, until the very end of Rosemary's life when she needed his help to hold a pen, he had never read his wife's journal. Finding her account of their long life together 'touching, and at times very funny', he asked her permission to seek a publisher after her death. Unable to speak and scarcely able to move, she nodded her agreement. Here he presents just a fraction of the millions of words she wrote. The diaries start in Africa in the late Forties, where young Rosemary Kirkcaldy is a convent schoolgirl with dreams of becoming a dancer and actress. We're fast-forwarded to a small Scottish rep theatre where the leading man is tall, handsome and remarkably persistent. Despite being engaged to someone called Nigel back home, Rosemary quickly succumbs to the charismatic Joss Ackland. Nine months after the wedding, the first of seven babies appears, and Rosemary finds herself embarking on an exhausting life of love and motherhood on the breadline. At one point things get so bad that Joss is reduced to working as a farmhand. In 1963, tragedy struck when a fire engulfed the family's London home. After saving her children, a pregnant Rosemary had to jump from an upstairs window and broke her back. Told by the doctors she would never walk again, she left Stoke Mandeville hospital 18 months later with only a slight limp. Clip on charms From this point, it was clear Rosemary would never resume her acting career. Instead her diaries describe days full of enjoyable domesticity. Children charge in and out, there are meals to prepare and distinguished friends such as John Mortimer to entertain. Joss begins to appear in films such as White Mischief and The Hunt For Red October, which secure his place as one of Britain's most successful character actors. But as well as all the first nights and standing ovations, what shines through sexy lingerie china is the strength of love that binds the Acklands together. Even when faced with the death of their eldest son after a drug overdose in 1982, they still delight in each other's company. References to their passionate sex life abound. All of which makes the final section of this book so moving. Towards the end of the Nineties, Rosemary describes tripping and falling more than usual. Then she starts slurring her words as if she is drunk. Only gradually does it become clear that something serious is amiss. Diagnosed with motor neurone disease, the diaries gradually descend into a heart-breaking round of hospital visits and increased dependency on professional care. Byline: FRANCES HARDY WHEN Heartbeat star Jason Durr told his then fouryear-old daughter she was going to have a twin brother and sister, there was one question he wasn't expecting. 'She said: "I'd like that, but could you make them older than me?"' he recalls. 'I guess she loved the idea of being the little girl in the house. We said: "No, I'm afraid you'll have to be the big sister." She thought for a few seconds before concluding that would be fine.' Four months ago, Jason's wife Kate duly provided her with twin baby siblings Felix and Velvet, who are now sitting on Jason's lap. Felix is placid. Velvet is yowling at the top of her voice. So far, so charming. But the story of their conception is remarkable, even by modern standards. Jason is the genetic father of the babies, who were conceived through a U.S. egg donor. When Kate and Jason, best known as PC Mike Bradley in the police drama, decided to extend their family, they imagined they would conceive again easily. After all, there had been no problem with their daughter Blossom. But, as the revealed in the Mail in August, the twins proved a far trickier proposition. Their journey into the world was fraught with anxiety and euphoria. And now Jason and replica tag heruer watches Kate, a former TV presenter turned full-time mother, talk about it with candour and humour. First, it seemed it was Jason, 42, whose fertility was at issue. Low sperm counts are not a topic men are keen to discuss in public, but he and Kate, also 42, have no qualms about doing so. Kate says: 'A year after Blossom was born, we started trying for another baby. When, after six months, I hadn't fallen pregnant, we thought there must be a fertility issue.' And so it proved. In July 2005, Jason had fallen ill with mumps. 'When adults get mumps it can travel south and cause an inflammation of the testicles, which sounds comedic, but when you're suffering from it, it's no laughing matter,' says Kate. 'The upshot was his sperm manufacturing centre was damaged, which decimated his sperm count.' The couple felt 'frustrated but not defeated'; doctors had assured them that, with the help of IVF, they were hopeful of a successful outcome. But their first attempt failed. MEANWHILE, the family had decided to decamp from their home in England to Hollywood, where Jason -- who carries an Irish passport as his mother hails from Monaghan -- had secured work on TV shows. When settled, Jason and Kate visited a fertility clinic in Los Angeles. There they encountered a second setback. Kate was beginning a premature menopause. An IVF attempt using Jason's sperm to fertilise eggs taken from Kate failed, and at the end of the treatment the expert's prognosis was uncompromising. 'He said: "You can throw as much money, time and emotion at this issue as you like, but it isn't going to work," ' says Kate. The implications were stark. Kate and Jason would never be able to have another child that was genetically their own. Their options now were adoption, egg donation -- or just giving up. 'I went through a process of grieving,' says Kate. 'I maintained a facade of cheerfulness, but when a friend remarked how pragmatic I was being, Clip on charms I broke down. We considered giving up and we thought about adoption, but the doctors said: "If you use an egg donor you are in control because you're carrying the child." ' The idea grew on them. As you'll probably know if you've ever spent time searching for a property, you should never go by first impressions. Even the most unassuming facade can reveal an absolute gem if you just take the time to cross the threshold. Today's featured property illustrates this point quite beautifully. Having started out as a perfectly charming, though fairly standard, 1960s, detached, two-bedroom bungalow, it's been transformed into a superb five-bedroom home. On the market with Reeds Rains at Pounds 280,000, number 245, Louth Road, Grimsby, stands in a generous plot, with ample parking to the front replica tag heruer watches and a large private back garden, featuring a well-kept lawn, decking and a big, block-paved terrace. But it's the property itself that will really impress and its present-day incarnation owes much to a major programme of improvements over the past three years by current owners the Turner family, who are looking to move to the North Thoresby area. An extension to the back paved the way for a splendid new kitchen diner, while a further extension to one side doubled the size of the bathroom and a spacious, centrally-heated, brick and uPVC conservatory was added to the rear. Extensive re-plastering was carried out, too, plus high-quality oak-wood laminate flooring was installed through most of the ground floor and the property has obviously been redecorated throughout. A previous owner also had the roof raised and the loft converted into an upper floor, which houses a single bedroom, a sizeable walk- in room for clothes, shoes and so on, a wet room and a fabulous master bedroom. The result is an excellent family home, well placed for schools, shops and other Thomas sabo charms amenities, as well as transport connections. So let's take a closer look. Step through the front door and you're greeted by an attractive entrance hall, in a pale lemon tone, which has a lovely family room and an equally inviting living room, either side. Both are kept light and airy by big front bay windows and stylish decor in warm, earthy tones and have a simple, elegant fireplace, housing an electric flame-effect fire. Along the hall are three, comfy double bedrooms, then the very chic bathroom, where light blue-grey decor, a slate-tile-effect floor, similar wall tiles - used sparingly and set with glitter grout - provide a fine backdrop for a contemporary white suite. This comprises a bath with shower attachment, WC and washbasin, built into a smart, charcoal-coloured wall unit, and a double cubicle - lined with black "Aqua Panelling" and housing a big drencher shower. Perhaps even more striking is the splendid kitchen diner, which blends oak laminate flooring with mainly cream decor and front and back walls in a warm, vibrant red. Beech, butcher's block worktops and natural stone-tiled splashbacks are a further touch of quality and work beautifully alongside downlit units in a soft ivory tone, with illuminated cabinets. There's ample room for a table and chairs, a door into replica hublot watches the conservatory and French doors to the back garden, plus a sink beneath a window, a dishwasher, a wine cooler and room for a US- style fridge/ freezer. HIBS gaffer John Hughes believes his side must show more commitment if they are to put the 5-1 mauling by St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park behind them. The Easter Road men remain in third place in the SPL but face a tough trip to Craig Brown's rejuvenated Motherwell this weekend. I REMIND readers that from this year the retirement age for women will gradually rise from 60 to 65 by 2020, and by 2046 the retirement age for both men and women will be 68. At the Conservative Party conference shadow Chancellor George Osborne said that if the Conservatives win the election they would seek to bring the higher retirement age even closer. Thomas sabo charms They have said men should retire at 66 by 2015 and they would possibly raise the retirement age to 70. If this comes to fruition the clock would be turned back 100 years to when the first state pension was introduced in 1909. The argument is that people are living longer, and in the main they are, but the question is why? It is a known fact within the insurance industry that the longer people work the shorter their life links of london charms expectancy, and the earlier they retire the longer they can expect to live. Some of today's pensioners were fortunate enough to retire in their 50s, and at most 60 for women and 65 for men; perhaps this is one reason why we are told that we are living longer. When the new legislation, brought in by New Labour comes into force, I wonder if the population will be constantly told that the mortality age is decreasing? I think not. I hope the younger generation realise that working longer because of the decisions made by today's politicians will curtail their life expectancy. They must campaign now to get their message heard, because they will find, like those of us campaigning for a fairer deal for today's pensioners, that those in power do not listen and do not care. replica breitling watches Ever since Margaret Thatcher's government stopped the state pension being linked to earnings 30 years ago, successive governments have eroded it. It is now well below poverty level, making pensioners reliant on means-tested benefits that are limited for only a few to enjoy. There has been constant campaigning to right this wrong - to no avail. Pensioners, as ever, are an easy target when public spending cuts have to be made. Liverpool's reliance on Fernando Torres is well-known and his absence since 13 January with a knee injury has placed a greater emphasis on the supporting cast to provide the goalscoring threat. TOO good to go down is the phrase often bandied around West Ham United under Gianfranco Zola. But if Hull City can inflict a crucial blow in the relegation scrap tomorrow, perhaps the East End of London will lose its swagger. As Phil Brown's men have readily demonstrated inside the last five weeks, they are capable of mixing it with the best. Returns replica tag heruer watches against the likes of Spurs, Manchester City and Chelsea have lifted spirits and should Brown get his tactics right once more, a point or three is not beyond them at Upton Park. The ability to set a high tempo has been vital in the Tigers' successes and although defeat came at Blackburn last time out, the current personnel look best suited to a busy approach. replica hublot watches Brown's biggest headache - albeit a welcome one - is whether or not to throw a first start the way of Amr Zaki. The Egyptian has shown in his four substitute appearances that he's not adverse to hard work and a goal in the reserves win on Monday gave Brown a reminder of his ability in front of goal. It would be harsh on a bright pairing of Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink and Jozy Altidore and an impact role from the bench may again be Zaki's best hope. The rest of City's side picks itself at present. Seeing George Boateng's three-game ban overturned should see him partner Tom Cairney again in midfield while the wide men of Stephen Hunt and Craig Fagan have often shown an ability to get under the skin of opponents. West Ham are no fools and with a strong spine of their team, City will have to be at their best. IT'S NOT just Rangers' treble ambitions on the line when they face St Mirren in tonight's Scottish Cup replay ... boss Walter Smith is also hoping to preserve his 100% record in the competition since returning to the Ibrox hotseat. Smith hasn't lost a game in the tournament during his second spell at the club and has landed the trophy in the past two seasons. That's exactly the way he would like things to remain after his side entertain Gus MacPherson's men in their fifth round replay. In his first full season back at the club, Smith successfully led his team to Scottish Cup glory when they defeated First Division Queen of the South 3-2 in a thrilling final at Hampden, and 12 months later it was the same story following a hard-fought 1-0 win over Falkirk. This year Smith remains on course for a third successive success story in the competition. In 15 Scottish Cup encounters, Rangers have managed to replica breitling watches win 11 and on the four occasions they've been held to a draw, they've still gone on to emerge victorious and progress to the next round. The secret to their success? There is none, according to the man at the helm. "I don't think it is rocket science or a great secret to it," said Smith. "We have simply given the opposition every respect and worked hard in every game. "Our cup record over the last few years has been extremely impressive and it is obviously something we are pleased about. We have actually only lost won cup tie when Celtic beat us in extra- time in the final of the League Cup. "When you look back at our cup record in recent years, not only in the Scottish Cup but also the League Cup, you'll see we've faced a lot of tough games. But we have battled replica tag heruer watches hard in every one." He went on: "On some occasions, we've drawn the game and taken the match to a replay then managed to progress at the second attempt. It is to the players' credit that they keep digging deep and working hard to get themselves into the next round." That, of course, could turn out to be the case this evening. Rangers were held to a scoreless draw at St Mirren Park in the first meeting between the sides which forced tonight's replay. It has been suggested yet another fixture at a time when the club are involved in such a crucial title battle - given the financial situation at the club and the financial implications for both winning the league and not winning it - is something Gers could do without. For Smith, it is simply about trying to take another step closer to silverware. And he says the Ibrox club are still focused on proving successful on all three fronts rather than putting all their eggs in one basket. "The league, of course, is the priority," explained Smith. "That is the same every season. You want to win the league for obvious reasons, but there is also the Champions League the following season and trying to qualify for that. "However, the cup competitions are always very important and I've always wanted to win every competition." Smith added: "We've been fortunate enough to win the Scottish Cup in the last two seasons and we would love to go all the way this season again. "But, in order to do so, we must take each game at a time and we have a tough one tonight against St Mirren." br>Other articles: http://www.setemplate.net/merak/blog.php?user=mywatches&blogentry_id=133http://chud.com/community/index.php/public/blog/view/id_42105/http://www.hdsqw.com/Chinas-bank-card-spending-up.html

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Here's how you stop Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith: Put them in the Hall of Fame and watch them break down and cry. The men who tore apart NFL defenses couldn't handle the emotions Saturday when they were elected to the shrine along with five others. "They told me'Don't cry,'" Rice said, his eyes wet with tears. "It meant the world to me, just like winning a Super Bowl. On draft day, I didn't take that for granted. I didn't take this for granted." He could have. I believed in that little giant inside of me that said I can." Added Rice, standing shoulder to shoulder with Smith: "It's just like playing in that big game, this is something you think about, and it is happening. I never thought I would go in " with this guy here." Steve Young, one of two Hall of Fame quarterbacks who threw to Rice, got the first hug from the new inductee, then said: "They made yards after the catch a stat because of Jerry Rice." A six-time Pro Bowler, Jackson sparked the first turnaround by the Saints from Aints to contender, in the late 1980s. He helped the Saints to their first division title and playoff berth. Now, a day before the Saints appear in their first Super Bowl against the Indianapolis Colts, Jackson is Canton-bound. One little glitch: He was introduced as Randy instead of Rickey. RAFAEL BENITEZ still believes Liverpool can claim the final Champions League berth despite admitting his side are now locked in a four-way battle. links of london charms Despite a surprise return to action for Fernando Torres, Benitez's men laboured to a dismal goalless draw at near rivals Manchester City yesterday. With Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa both winning, only a single point separates the four challengers with Liverpool having dropped down to sixth. And Benitez admits the dire Eastlands stalemate represented a missed opportunity for both his team and City. "It's not a good result for either team," said the Spaniard. "We both wanted to win. "You have to think about Tottenham and Villa, it's a race of four teams now. It's important to ensure we get three points in every game. We can't just look at City, Tottenham are there and Villa are there. "But I have to believe. If the manager doesn't have confidence it is difficult for the players." "I am frustrated we couldn't get the winner," said the Anfield manager. "It was a difficult game. Neither team had clear chances. We had more possession and were lacking the final pass in the final third which could make the difference. "Today both teams were defending well and were well-organised. We tried to create and had some chances where the final pass could have made the difference. replica hublot watches "I think at the end we were more in control, passing the ball with (Alberto) Aquilani, I think we had plenty of possession. To represent their country on the world stage is any sportsperson's dream. Apart from those at the top of a few select sports, any rewards that stem from achieving excellence are largely ethereal: satisfaction that comes from having reached your potential, the special bonding often forged while sharing a common goal, recognition of peers and, perhaps, from the public. Years of sacrifice and dedication are required to build skill and fitness levels sufficiently to catch the selectors' eye - and often it is then that the hard work begins. replica hublot watches The national men's hockey team the Black Sticks have flown to India under greater pressure than usual. However, the tournament is taking place under the ominous shadow of a terrorist threat by al Qaeda-linked operatives. Given the nature of the threats, the ability of extremist groups to cause havoc and the fact that no game can ever come close to life- or-death importance, except perhaps in the obsessive minds of a few rabid supporters, Child should be supported without question. He has shown surprising maturity for a 21-year- old, and the 119-test veteran and leading goal scorer bases his decision partly on the belief he would find it difficult to perform to his best in the unusual and difficult environment the teams are facing. The 12 teams have all accepted security assurances from Indian and international hockey officials, and it is unclear whether individuals from other teams have opted for the same course as Child. Be that as it may, he had the right to say no and hopefully will not suffer any consequences for doing so. replica breitling watches Security officials are using the tournament as a trial for the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi in October. It is to be hoped al Qaeda is not seriously seeing it in a similar light. In 2004, the Black Sticks played in an Olympic qualifying tournament in Madrid where pro-al Qaeda bombs killed 191 people and injured more than 2000. The latest threats might simply be attempts to unsettle Western nations, but terrorists' threats cannot be taken lightly. With a similar threat against the Indian Premier League cricket competition, the focus now switches to our leading cricketers - for whom lucrative returns rather than national glory are at stake. To: POLITICAL EDITORS replica tag heruer watches Contact: Marian Salzman, Euro RSCG Worldwide PR, 1-212-367- 6811, NEW YORK, Feb. 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Whether or not Americans heeded President Obama's inaugural admonition to "put away childish things," they have certainly developed a lot more interest in serious issues. A new national survey shows self-declared interest in a raft of weighty matters has grown, while almost half of Americans (48.2 percent) say they've become less interested in celebrities over the past 12 to 18 months. Losing their appetite for celebrity antics, 46.4 percent of Americans are more interested in general news than they were. This news-hungry trend is even more pronounced among men than women, with 51 percent of men versus 41.7 percent of women more interested. Taking account of those rating themselves "less interested" (6.7 percent of men versus 10.9 percent of women), the net margin of greater interest in the news is 44.3 percent for men and 30.8 percent of women. This gender skew pertains to all major fields of interest in the survey; higher net percentages of men than women rate themselves more interested. The findings come from an online "mood monitor" survey of 388 Americans across the country that was commissioned by global integrated marketing communications agency Euro RSCG Worldwide in February 2010. MicroDialogue collected and analyzed the data. Regarding their own local politics, a net 29.4 percent of men have become more interested, compared with 16.7 percent of women. Men even show a net increase in interest in the local politics of other areas (net 10.8 percent more), whereas women show a net decrease of interest (net 6.2 percent less). Moving the focus up to the politics of their own state, there's a surge of greater interest with net 47.9 percent more men and net 30.2 percent more women. In terms of the politics of other states, net 23.1 percent of men and 9.4 percent of women are more interested. There are clear, strong increases in interest for domestic politics in general, although the margin is far higher with men than with women (net 42.3 percent men versus net 24.5 percent women). The Great Recession and head-spinning news from Wall Street have pushed economy and finance firmly center stage for Americans. Huge net margins of 63.4 percent of men and 52.1 percent of women rate themselves more interested in these topics than they were 12 to 18 months ago. Business and corporations have also come in for higher levels of interest, although they're far more of a guy thing: Net 42.3 percent of men are more interested, compared with net 16 percent of women. It's no surprise that health care has garnered far more interest over the past 12 to 18 months. Among men, 67.6 percent are more interested, and among women 61.5 percent are more interested. What is surprising is that a small minority rate themselves less interested in the issue: 6.2 percent of men and 8.3 percent of women. This suggests some Americans have been turned off of the whole subject, despite--or perhaps because of--the health-care reform tug-of-war in Congress and across the media. Although there are consistently higher percentages of men who are more interested in the big issues, there are consistently higher percentages of women who feel growing disapproval with the issues compared with 12 to 18 months ago. With replica breitling watches local politics in their area, a net 1.5 percent of men disapprove (25.8 percent more approving versus 27.3 percent more disapproving) but net 14.6 percent of women disapprove (15.1 percent more approving versus 29. LORD BROWNE of Madingley, the former chief executive of BP, has revealed for the first time how he panicked and blundered when his secret gay life was about to be exposed. The man widely regarded as the greatest businessman of his generation has admitted that he was horrified in early 2007 when his former lover, Canadian-born Jeff Chevalier, went to a tabloid newspaper to sell his story about their fouryear relationship. Lord Browne tried unsuccessfully to win an injunction blocking the disclosures, but in court papers he lied about how they had met - insisting it was while exercising in Battersea Park. In fact, the two men had met through a gay escort website. In his book Beyond Business, to be published this week, the former chief executive admits making errors as details of his gay private life were about to emerge. "I had been found out; Burberry Replica I panicked," he writes. "What was in my mind is hard to say: confusion, anger but most of all a sense of betrayal and affront. Someone I had trusted was using stories about me to their advantage. Some of it was deeply private and some of it simply not true." As the revelations became public, Lord Browne resigned from BP on May 1 2007 after more than 40 years with the company. It looked as if he could face perjury charges, but Mr Justice Eady chose not to refer the case to the Attorney General on the grounds that the disclosure of Lord Browne's behaviour was "probably sufficient punishment". Lord Browne admits it was a mistake to try to block the story and be dishonest about how he had met Mr Chevalier, now 29. "I was ashamed and embarrassed," he writes. "I just could not bring myself to tell the truth." However, he says he is now happy pursuing an openly gay life. "It's impossible to live a lie," he said. "You're never yourself and it Emporio Armani Replica Watch hurts you. You start by living two lives and, eventually, it's just not sensible. You're fooling yourself much more than you're fooling anybody else." The former John Browne, who became a peer in 2001, is able to look positively on the events of two years ago. "One of the gifts of 2007 is that I can be very open. Two parts of me have been joined together, really for the first time. It's wonderful because it makes me happier and it allows me AH Handbags to have different relationships with people. Because it is what it is, and I am who I am, and that makes a very big difference to me, and I'm probably lighter in my step." Lord Browne, now 61, joined BP as an apprentice in 1966 and worked his way up to become group chief executive in June 1995. He was nicknamed "The Sun King" as he took the company through a series of daring deals. He was voted industrialist of the year for six years out of seven. Although he had realised he was gay during his school days, he says he never felt able to admit it to his family or his colleagues. Even as he approached his 60th birthday, he was still pretending publicly that he was looking for the right woman to marry. Working in the macho oil business made being openly gay particularly difficult, he conceded. "It was obvious to me that it was simply unacceptable to be gay in business, and most definitely the oil business," he said.
